Meet Lillian

DSC01051.JPG

I work in dramaturgy and arts management, with my process focusing on sustainable engagement models for both creators of and audiences of performance arts. My intentions are to reimagine community engagement programs' structure to better support diverse audiences, reshape arts education to be accessible for all, and craft sustainable workflows in professional and educational theatrical environments.

My process originates from questions of audience contract and investment in the concept of theatre as a sanctuary, a space to safely explore ideas through various learning styles. I believe that community catharsis is possible but requires third spaces where all are welcomed and celebrated. I am interested in combining my experiences in dramaturgy, management, performing, and technical theatre to see the theatre making and attending experience more holistically. Then I aim to aid theatrical teams in melding their various perspectives into entertainment that has clarity, allowing for the audience to feel cared for and open to information or persuasion.

This work emerges from the value that one individual's identity and perspective can bring to a community. The importance of authenticity in every artistic interaction is deeply rooted in all work I do, as I believe that now more than ever, we must create safe space for debate. Only then can we build a better world for all.
